Privacy Policy

Account data. When you create an account we store your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Meal scans. When you scan a meal, the photo is sent to our servers and to our AI provider (OpenAI) to estimate calories and protein. We retain the derived nutrition estimate, not the original photo.

Usage data. We log which screens you visit and how often you scan, so we can fix bugs and understand which features matter. This data is not sold or shared with advertisers.

Device data. We capture device model, OS version, app version, and crash logs through standard mobile telemetry.

Payment data. Subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your card number. We only receive a subscription status (active / cancelled).

We use the data above to: run AI meal recognition; track your weekly scan quota; show you your meal history; manage your subscription; respond to support requests; and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train third-party AI models outside what is strictly necessary to deliver the recognition result you asked for.

ProteinFit is powered by a small set of trusted vendors:

• Hetzner — application hosting.
• Neon — database, hosted on Amazon Web Services in the US East (Ohio) region.
• OpenAI — AI meal recognition and meal suggestions.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription billing.
• Google AdMob — ads shown in the free plan.
• Google Firebase — hosting and analytics for proteinfit-ai.com.
• Resend — transactional email (welcome, password reset).

Each sub-processor has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data needed for each service to do its job.

ProteinFit asks for camera access only to take meal photos for AI scanning. Camera frames are sent to the recognition pipeline and discarded after the response is returned. We do not access the camera in the background.

Your account, meal history, and subscription status are kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, all personal data is removed from our active databases within 30 days. Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics may be retained longer.

You can: ask for a copy of the data we hold about you; ask us to correct it; ask us to delete it; ask us to stop processing it; or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@proteinfit-ai.com. We respond within 30 days.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you can also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

ProteinFit is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will remove the account.

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email before they take effect.
